First Agility Class

Mia and I had our first agility class tonight, and already it was a lot of fun. We didn't do too much, but we can look forward to a lot of learning in the weeks to come. I also need to remember to exercise her a little bit more before each class, as she was crazy excited and wanted to play with the other dogs more than anything else.

The first thing they had us do was get in a circle and have us show them some basic obedience. Mia is pretty good with her obedience skills so we had no problems there. Our next task was to introduce them to the hurdle bar. We didn't do much, just had them hop over the bar, set very low, to get treats on the other side. Mia actually did better with the bar set a little higher, so she actually had to jump over. When it was set too low to the ground, she just wanted to step over it, knocking it off every single time. What a silly monkey :P

Our last part of the class was introducing them to the tunnel. Mia had absolutely no problem with that and ran straight through every single time. Hopefully it will continue to be a lot of fun for her!
